TEAM > ME

Thirteen-year-old Yusuf is forced to start over once again when he moves to a new neighborhood with his mother. Leaving behind the friends and familiar surroundings he has grown accustomed to, Yusuf gradually finds himself increasingly isolated. Searching for a sense of belonging and someone he can call a friend, he finds his way to basketball and the door of a new team.

But joining a new team is not simply about proving himself on the court. As communication between Yusuf and his mother becomes increasingly difficult, the competition and conflicts within the team challenge his sense of belonging. TEAM > ME is a story about loneliness, family, friendship, and the need to belong, told through the eyes of a child who is constantly forced to start over—and a reminder that being together can mean far more than simply winning.
