World Focus, Explained: One Country, One Year
A spotlight on one country's children's film and media, rather than a competition.
Each year Canada Kids Film Festival highlights one country and presents a curated look at that country's children's cinema and media. World Focus is primarily a screening and cultural exchange program rather than an automatic competition section.
A typical World Focus programme draws on around twenty or more productions, which may include historical and contemporary films, animation, short and feature films, educational media and archival material. It is often accompanied by cultural presentations, guest speakers, embassy participation and educational activities.
Once published, World Focus content stays on the site alongside every other year's focus, building into a growing reference on children's film traditions around the world.
