Synopsis
Baytora tells the story of Foad, a ten-year-old boy in Gaza who, amid the city’s wounds, has not forgotten life and imagination. After the ceasefire, a schoolteacher asks the children to build models of their dream homes using whatever materials are available to them. From the fragments of everyday life, Foad creates a paper house—small and fragile, yet filled with hope.
The journey of this handmade house to school becomes a passage through the city and through life itself, where memory, loss, and hope flow side by side. Rather than lingering on destruction, Baytora turns its gaze toward the collective strength of children—those who, together, gather the unbroken pieces of their dreams and rebuild them. The film is a portrait of a quiet, human resistance: children who, through companionship and faith in tomorrow, continue living and shape the future, however small, anew.
