Synopsis
After returning home from a bike ride with her father, six-year-old Tara tastes a deliciously sweet mango
and wonders why it tastes so special. In response, her father shares an enchanting legend inspired by
the Dongaria tribe of Odisha, telling the story of two mischievous boys, Shira and Shora, who are
banished by the village shaman, Gara, for disrespecting the spirits of nature. During forty-eight full
moons of wandering, they discover a magical mango tree and, rather than keeping its extraordinary
fruit for themselves, plant its seeds wherever they travel, allowing mangoes to spread across distant
lands and bring joy to generations. When they return, Gara teaches them that the true sweetness of the
mango comes not from the fruit itself but from the selfless act of sharing. Inspired by the story, Tara
shares her mango with her family and plants its seed, celebrating the enduring values of generosity,
harmony with nature, and the belief that goodness grows sweeter when it is shared.
