What Academy Membership Involves
Academy members are professionals who help recognize the best in children's media.
The Academy of Kids Content is CKFF's long-term professional community for children's cinema and media. Its members are qualified professionals in fields such as directing, producing, writing, acting, cinematography, editing, animation, music, sound, children's television, education and criticism.
Academy members are not chosen by picking an option at registration. The festival assigns the Academy role to an existing account, and a person can hold that role alongside a crew profile. Members may be assigned to specific categories that match their expertise, and they are expected to vote honestly, keep ballots and deliberations confidential and disclose conflicts of interest.
A member who worked on a nominated film, or has a significant relationship or financial interest, abstains on that production. Awards are earned through professional recognition and cannot be bought through sponsorship or influence.
